Tammy Lee Cortes (Gallaway) 43 of Ucluelet passed away on December 29, 2016 while on vacation with her family in Nashville, TN. Tammy was born on October 7, 1973 in Dauphin, MB. The eldest daughter of Don & Gerry Gallaway. Tammy moved with her family to Port Alberni when she was 5. Tammy grew up in Port Alberni and graduated from N.I.C. with her Early Childhood Education in 1992. Tammy moved to Ucluelet in 1994 working at the preschool and Wee People Daycare. This is where she met her loving husband Kevin Cortes in 1996. They dated on 4 ½ months before they were married in August 1996. Katlyn, their first child was born in February 1997 and Kassidy followed in January 2000. Tammy owned and operated her own in home daycare from 1997, where she loved and cared for 100’s of Ucluelet’s children until her passing. Tammy is survived by her husband Kevin, daughters Katlyn & Kassidy, parents Don & Gerry Gallaway, John & Shirley Cortes, grandparents Clayton & Billie Sawyer, sisters Joyce Gallaway, Wendy (Dano) Stubbs, Brenda (Mitch) Cortes, brother Lawrence (Debbie) Cortes, nieces Alyssa Graham, Kaidyence Stubbs, Madison Cortes, nephews Parker Stubbs, Mavric Cortes, uncles Ray Sawyer, Clayton Sawyer, Gary (Helen) Andow. Proceed by grandparents Roy & Hazel Gallaway, uncle Darrell Andow. A celebration of Life will be held at the UCC in Ucluelet on January 28, 2017 starting at 1pm. Everybody is welcome.
