Today's municipal election brought a significant shakeup to Ucluelet's municipal council as Mayor Bill Irving lost his seat as did two of Ucluelet's four incumbent councillors.
Irving secured 294 votes and fell just short of challenger Dianne St Jacques who secured 303 votes.
Of Ucluelet's four incumbent councillors, Sally Mole (433 votes) and Randy Oliwa (371 votes) were the only two to retain their seats.
Both newcomers who ran in this election earned a spot on council with Mayco Noel (361 votes) joining Marilyn McEwen (354 votes) as council's new faces.
Incumbent councillors Geoffrey Lyons (335 votes) and Dario Corlazzoli (305 votes) both lost their seats.
Of 1,258 eligible voters in Ucluelet, 606 cast ballots.
