It was a close shave, but in the Tofino Chamber of Commerce Movember contest, Allan Pearson won by a whisker.
Pearson sported a trophy-worthy moustache at last week's chamber mixer at Shelter.
"I did actually just grow it for Movember," he said. "It feels good."
Pearson said he had a lot of support, especially from his general manager at Pacific Surf School.
"She keeps me stress-free to allow the hair to grow," he quipped.
Chamber president Jennifer Steven hailed the winner and all participants.
"Movember is such an important month to raise awareness for prostate cancer. I've met so many people from the ages of 25 to 60 that have suffered from prostate
cancer. I think it's good awareness for to get men to get checked. Once you get checked, you can eliminate that from your life," she said.
In Ucluelet, RCMP member Marcel Midlane sported a robust 'stache for Movember, winning first place at the fundraiser held at Black Rock Oceanfront Resoort Sunday.
Second place, Glen; third place, Dave Doucette.
