Charlene Boustead is kicking off the new year with more riches and less sleep thanks to a recent windfall of $638,000 playing the MegaJackpots Cleopatra slot game on BCLC’s PlayNow.com.
And she hopes to bid farewell to most of her mortgage.
“I am not sleeping,” Boustead said of her Dec. 19, 2023 win. “My mind is going a million miles a minute. I still cannot believe it!”
The Victoria resident was at home playing the slot game on PlayNow.com when she won the jackpot.
“The MegaJackpots symbols started coming up. There were three, then four, then five!”
Once the news sunk in that her win was real, she told her parents, who also shared in her feelings of disbelief.
She then told her spouse and the two of them celebrated her win over dinner and champagne.
Boustead has plans to pay down her mortgage with her winnings and looks forward to retiring earlier than anticipated, thanks to her prize. Some home renovations are also in her future.
