This Saturday Dec. 11 is Stuff the Cruiser Day at the Ucluelet Co-op.

Locals are encouraged to swing by the food store parking lot between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with donations of personal care items, pet food and Co-op gift cards to fill the RCMP cruiser.

Food Bank on the Edge volunteers will be on deck with Ucluelet RCMP constable Mike Moore to anchor the event and Ucluelet Co-op is providing hot chocolate and treats.

“It’s the eighth annual showing. It originated from Constable Jarett Duncan and he handed it off to Constable Mike Moore. Stuff the Cruiser is the opportunity for people to donate non-food items. We like to get an influx of personal care items,” said Food Bank on the Edge Society’s executive director Cris Martin.

“Make sure you come on down. It goes without saying that it’s a very important event for the community and it’s a good time for everyone to come together and support each other,” said Const. Moore.

Martin says the Stuff the Cruiser wish list includes: toilet paper, dish soap, laundry soap, deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste and baking supplies.

“We need personal care items. Things people use every single day,” she said.
