What is your plan for this Valentine’s Day? Depending on what you are doing remember to pack your own reusable cutlery, refillable water bottle, and shopping bag if you’re planning to eat out at one of our amazing Ocean Friendly restaurants. Another idea is to spend a romantic day on the beach together. Valentine’s Day, like many commercial holidays, often romanticizes and perpetuates the consumption of unnecessary and wasteful products. The premise of Love Your Beach Day is to instead romanticize our connection to the environment, by spending time giving back to the coast with a loved one. In turn, directly counters the unnecessary waste that is often produced on this day of the year. So get outside on one of our beautiful beaches or trails and help support Surfrider’s mission dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s ocean, beaches, and waves for all people to enjoy!
