The Tofino - Ucluelet Westerly News has been named one of the best small town newspapers in B.C.

The British Columbia and Yukon Community NewsMedia Association unveiled its finalists for the annual Ma Murray Awards on March 22 and the Westerly is back on the list for General Excellence in its circulation class.

This is the fourth General Excellence nomination for the Westerly, which earned second place awards in 2019 and 2020 and first place honours in 2022.

This year, the Westerly joins Lake Cowichan Gazette and Rocky Mountain Goat as the three finalists.

Winners to be announced later this month at a gala event at North Vancouver’s Polygon Gallery.
