In loving memory ~
After a lengthy battle with vascular dementia, at the age of 77, Marjorie passed away peacefully on January 1, 2023. She is survived by her beloved husband, Colin Sadler, of 57 years; her children Shanan (Karen), Sherilyne (Kevin), and Sonya (Ram), 5 grandchildren, 4 sisters, 2 brothers and many nephews, nieces, and extended relations. Marjorie (Marge) was born in Melville, Saskatchewan, the eldest daughter of Ernest and Irene Schick. At the age of 12, the family moved to Vancouver, B.C.
Marge met the love of her life, Colin there and they married in November of 1965. After 3 years of living in Victoria, B.C. they moved to Tofino, B.C. in March of 1969. They spent 20 years in the small fishing village raising their children and immersing themselves in the community. In 1989 Marge, Colin and their youngest daughter moved to Chico, California where they spent the next 12 years in missions with YWAM. By 2001 Marge and Colin moved to Novgorod, Russia to continue on as missionaries.
They returned to live in Tofino in 2003 to be closer to their children and grandchildren. In 2020 Marjorie moved into Fir Park Village in Port Alberni, B.C. for dementia care. Marjorie was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ exuded in every part of her being. She will be lovingly remembered for her selflessness, genuine compassion and empathy for others, and her ability to listen, encourage and provide a space of comfort to those in need.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, care aides and staff at Fir Park Village whose compassionate care made all the difference.
A celebration of life will be held for Marjorie in early Spring 2023.
