November 25, 2022
It is with great sorrow that we must announce the passing of our irreplaceable mother Leslie Denise Horne (Kevis) on Friday, November 25th, 2022. Born in Edmonton, Alberta in 1964. Leslie graduated from Sir Winston Churchill high school in Calgary in 1982 with a keen interest in fashion and sewing. With a short stint in beauty college, any plans quickly became sidelined by the birth of her 3 boys in 1987, 88 and 89 consecutively.
This was where Leslie found her true passion and calling in life, family. She is predeceased by her late husband David Hope, sister Ann and father Dennis. Leslie leaves behind all the ones she touched with her love. Mother Denise, brother Michael and sister Susan daughter Twilight (Curtis), sons James (Trish), Andy (Tanya) and Robert (Amadea) as well as her favorite things in the world, her grandchildren Marcus, Rebecca, Liam, Miles, Summer, Jasper, Cohen, Ariel, Maisie and Carson, as well many nieces and nephews and dear friends.
An avid Canucks fan, she found joy in collecting every item with a Canucks symbol on it she could find, the tackier the better.
As Grocery Manager at the Co-op over the last five years, Leslie touched many hearts and lives…she really loved her job.
One of her proudest accomplishments was her volunteering whether it was sports teams, Ukee days or leading the charge at the Army Navy, her town spirit showed.
A service will be held at the Ucluelet Community Center (500 Matters Dr) Saturday, April 15th at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to their local ANAF/Legion
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you’ll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.
Dance… I hope you dance.”
