Charles Wayne Hamilton

Forever in our hearts ~
Charles Wayne Hamilton was born in Midland Ontario, where he lived with his parents and Brother. He was predeceased by his parents Geneva and Wallace and his Brother Norman Hamilton, Brother-in-law Bernard Kelly, and his Nephews Michael Kelly and Jeffrey Hamilton.
After joining the Canadian Air Force at 17, he served several terms of engagement across Canada, both as a single man and a young married man and Father. After retiring from the (RCAF) Wayne went on to a new field in Canadian and American Traffic, Transportation and Physical Distribution. He studied at the University of British Columbia and the University of Toronto. Upon graduation, he held increasingly senior roles in this industry until his retirement.
Wayne was a dedicated Father who always took great pride and interest in his Daughter's careers and personal lives and those of his Grandsons.
Wayne was a man of exacting standards and always strove hard to excel in work and sports. He was a ranked Racketball player in his younger years and became an avid golfer with less than a ten handicap in retirement. With his wife Margery, they excelled in Ball Room dancing, and Doubles Bridge.
After many years in Vancouver, Margery and Wayne retired to Qualicum Beach where they enjoyed some 30 years of active retirement. No matter where Wayne travelled, he always figured that 'we were the luckiest' to have found such a wonderful home, good friends and a rich life on Vancouver Island. Wayne taught us to be kind, and considerate and to value our family and friends.
Wayne will be greatly missed and is survived by his wife Margery, Daughter Seana-Lee Hamilton, Tyra-Lynne Henschel, her husband Grant, their sons Andrew and Taylor and spouses Laura and Samantha, and Great Grandsons, Casey and Ford - both born in 2022. He is also survived by Sister-in-law Helen Kelly and her family in Arvada, Colorado, Sister-in-law Dorothy Hamilton and her family in Ontario, and many cousins across Canada. Wayne was a charmer, a jokester, someone who liked riddles and puzzles and a friend to every little kid he met who was out with their parents. Always stopping to remark on what the child was doing and commenting to the Parents on how lucky they were to have such an amazing child in their life.
Wayne leaves us all with one remaining puzzle to solve, which goes like this: If a Banana and a half costs a cent and a half, how many could you buy for a quarter?
