It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Aurora Paterson. Born in Glasgow Scotland, Aurora was the 8th and last surviving child in a family of 12. As a child, she lived around the corner from her brothers best friend, William, who would eventually become the love of her life. They eloped in 1944 and later married again in the church. They were a few weeks shy of being married for 69 years. Aurora was a qualified tailoress and kilt maker. She had once made kilts for Laurel & Hardy when they were touring the U.K. The Patersons moved to Canada in January of 1976, and eventually called Tofino, B.C. their home. Aurora had more than her share of ups & downs throughout her life, but the one constant was her faith. She was a devout catholic and gained comfort and strength from the church when she most needed it. She was very generous and would help anyone in need. She tried to live her life according to the tenets of her faith. Aurora was predeceased by her loving husband William, and her daughter Aurora (Rory) Paterson. She is survived by her daughter Anne (John) Boland, her grandchildren Paul (Jill) Boland, Nicola (Brian) Box, Liam Boland, and her 2 beautiful great-grandchildren Maddy and Hannah. A Catholic Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi in Tofino.
