Notice of Tax Sale

Pursuant to Section 645 (1) of the Local Government Act; On Monday on October 7, 2024, at 10:00 am in the acting council chambers, Activity Room 1 at 500 Matterson Drive, Ucluelet BC; the collector must conduct the annual tax sale by offering for sale by public auction each parcel of real property on which taxes are delinquent. The following property shall be offered for sale, subject to prior payment of the delinquent taxes and interest.

Prospective bidders are urged to make all necessary inquiries to municipal and other government agencies to determine the existence of any bylaws, restrictions, charges, or any other conditions which may affect the value of suitability of the property.

• All attendees must be registered as bidders and must have a Photo ID, and SIN number at time of registration. Pre-registration begins at 9:00 A.M.

• The minimum bid is the upset price, which includes current penalties, arrears and delinquent taxes and interest, 5% tax sale costs and Land Title Office transfer fees.

• Upon completion of each sale, the successful bidder must make payment immediately before the auction continues to the next property. If the successful bidder does not have the full payment required, the property will be put back into the auction.

• Acceptable forms of payment are certified cheque and/or bank draft.

The purchase of a tax sale property is subject to tax under the Property Tax Act on the fair market value of the property.
