The road to the Tsawwassen ferry terminal has reopened after a multi-vehicle crash closed Highway 17 on Monday morning

The head-on collision between three cars just outside the BC Ferries terminal sent one person to hospital with serious injuries at about 9 a.m.

BC Ferries was running on a delayed scheduled following the crash, and cancelled multiple trips.

The ferry corporation issued a travel advisory, noting that a “major traffic accident at the entrance to the causeway near Tsawwassen terminal” has reduced vehicle access to the terminal.

“Customers travelling to and from Tsawwassen are being advised that they may experience a delay in accessing or leaving the terminal,” the advisory notes.
