Kids let loose on the path behind Hotel Zed during a past Easter egg hunt in Tofino. The fourth annual Hotel Zed event will happen on April 20, 2025 with separate egg hunts for "littles and bigs".

Are you looking for something to do with the kids over Easter weekend? From a bloomin' mystery to some Easter stoke at Hotel Zed, we've got you covered.

The weekend kicks off with a live children's performance at Clayoquot Sound Theatre on Friday, April 18. The Great Bloom, by Sydney Marino, is a new Canadian comedic theatre show for kids aged five to 12 years. Will Dawn save the forest, or will disaster ensue?

The play kicks off at 4:30 p.m. The theatre is located at 380 Campbell St. Tickets are available at tofinotheatre.com/events/.

The District of Tofino hosts its annual Eggstravaganza on Saturday, April 19 at the Tofino Community Hall.

The Easter Egg Hunt is for kids five years and up (there will be a special section for three- to five-year-olds too) and starts at 10 a.m. sharp.

Kids will collect three eggs: one red, one blue and one yellow. There will even be some special eggs hidden along the way. Kids can trade them in at the chocolate table for special chocolates "handmade and hand-wrapped with love from Chocolate Tofino," said Karen Habib, culture and events programmer with the District of Tofino's parks and recreation department.

There will be other Easter-focused activities following the event.

"This year will be a bit different because it's advance voting (for the federal election) happening at the same time in the hall," Habib said. Families will want to arrive a bit early because there won't be parking at the site.

The annual Big Beach Easter Egg Hunt takes place on Sunday, April 20 from 12:30-2 p.m. in Ucluelet.

Community members come together at the Black Rock Resort, which sponsors the Big Beach event, days before egg hunt to stuff the special eggs. Big Beach is located at 596 Marine Drive.

Over at Hotel Zed Tofino, staff members are stoked to host a pair of Easter egg hunts on Sunday, April 20—one for big kids and one for little kids (seven and under)—starting at 9:45 a.m. "We run an awesome hunt," said Myles Beeby, assistant general manager. "It's one of our most favourite days of the year."

The little kids' Easter egg hunt takes place in the playground and the big kids' egg hunt will lead them on the path out back of the hotel and toward the estuary.

"This year we've got double (the eggs) as last year," Beeby said.

This is the fourth year in a row that Hotel Zed has hosted its free egg hunt for the community. This year they will be handing out prizes for the best costumes. There will be door prizes too, and Beeby reminds people that this will be " rain or shine event."

The fun kicks off at 9:45 a.m. and runs until 12 p.m. Hotel Zed Tofino is located at 1258 Pacific Rim Highway.
