People gathered at two different locations in the Alberni Valley to celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day.
The Port Alberni Friendship Center held a lunch and dancing a day early, on Friday, June 20, 2025. Then the Tseshaht First Nation hosted an event on Saturday, June 21 at Paper Mill Dam, where salmon was cooked over an open fire and served for lunch.
